Special Projects

At times, ASAAP runs special projects in prevention, support and advocacy to meet the diverse needs of our communities. Please continue to visit this page for more information and to get involved.

Colour Me Queer

Arnab Banerjee founder of Magic Lantern Photography and queer activist in India and New York has partnered with ASAAP to develop a series of artistic photos to portray and celebrate South Asian queer identity. These images will depict diverse voices and aim to increase the visibility of a community often marginalized in the South Asian mainstream.

Sexual Health Coalition in Crescent Town

ASAAP along with Neighbourhood Link are co-chairs of a coalition to initiate a sexual health clinic in the Crescent town neighbourhood of the City of Toronto. With the large South Asian population in the area, this is a natural fit for ASAAP. Working alongside a number of organizations, ASAAP’s efforts within this initiate include conducting a youth based needs assessment and establishing stronger access to HIV and sexual health information in the area.
